Update on Jonnagiri Gold Project, Andhra Pradesh
Jonnagiri project is one of the key gold projects of Geomysore Services (India) Pvt Ltd (GMSI). A Mining Lease was granted by the State Govt. of Andhra Pradesh covering an area of 597.82 hectares (about 6 sq km). Gold mineralization in the Jonnagiri project is hosted within sheared granodiorites/granites and to a lesser extent in the volcanic rocks which cover an area of 1.25 sq km. The mineralized granites are spread over Dona East Block, Dona South Block and Dona Temple Deeps covering a total area of 4.75 sq km within the ML block. The volcanic rocks host vein type ‘Temple Lodes’. A resource drilling programme, leading to the feasibility study, has been taken up immediately after the execution of Mining Lease. 15,800m of diamond core drilling has been planned within the Temple Block. Detailed IP geophysical surveys and additional drilling are planned in the East Block and South Block. 4 diamond core drill rigs are under operation in the Temple Block area and about 7000m of drilling has been achieved so far. IP geophysical survey has been completed and data processing is being carried out. Once processed, the IP data is anticipated to provided additional drill targets in East and South Blocks. GMSI is aiming to prove 0.5 – 1 Moz of Indicated category gold resource by the end of the current drilling campaign.
